About Me
This is probably the hardest page on the blog for me to write. Not because I haven’t accomplished anything in my life, but because I would rather write about things other than myself. Until I get more time to write about myself, here are some basics:
I live in Salt Lake City (well actually a little south of it now, in a house on a hill.) I am happily married, have no kids, and no pets. I grew up in the Boston area, and even though I moved to be closer to BIG mountains, I am still a strong member of the Red Sox nation.
I don’t have much free time, because I fill it up with an endless list of projects (more about that in a moment.) But I do love to ski, bike, go to coffee shops, and spend time with my wife.
Work Stuff:
A few years ago I had this idea to “test” web pages to figure out what really works online. One thing led to another and I created a product and launched a startup named “Vertster.com” which has helped hundreds (thousands?) of businesses optimize their websites to be more profitable.
We use some heavy math - something known as Taguchi Multivariate Statistics - to rapidly test hundreds or thousands of possible web page layouts to figure our which one works the best. I have written a book and have been fortunate enough to be considered an expert. I have spoken at many conferences and smaller talks.
I am creative and technically adept. I have won numerous art contests, wrote my first “program” (if you can call it that) on the Apple II+ and now set my sights on launching a whole slew of custom web properties that I am building in my spare time.
